Copper engraving dated 1828 from:"Atlas de la Geographie ancienne, du moyen-age et moderne". By Felix Delamarche, who followed his father Charles Francois Demarche (1740-1817) in his cartographic business.
This detailed map shows the various political divisions of the Scandinavian countries. In the upper left is an inset of Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
Map has a vertical centerfol and is in Good condition.

This is half of a map page. The upper image is easy to recognize as Iceland withe the topography carefully shown. The small inset in the lower left are the Faeroe Islands.
Map is incomplete as half an atlas page. Condition is otherwise Almost Very Good.

The map has two vertical ond one horizontal fold to fit atlas size. Map is very clean. Except for some very light creasing at the bottom of the image, the overall condition is Very Good.

Map shows Iceland in topographical detail, especially the rivers. It also shows the four early divisions of Iceland.
Map has a vertical and a horizontal fold. Some creasing along fold lines as well as scattered light creasing in margins and image. Repair on lower margin edge on fold line. The lower margin corners have been repaired.

" Descrittione dell'Isola d'Islanda di Tomaso Poracchi". Copper etching from "L'Isole piu Famose del Mondo" (The most famous islands of the world by Thomas Porcacchi (1530 - 1585) and engraved by Girolamo Porro. The first edition of this work was published in Venice in 1572. This is from the second edition, 1620.
This slightly northwest-oriented map is interesting because it is so early and includes so many of the very small islands surrounding the mainland.
