Map shos the region of Piemont at the time. In the lower right is a bit of the Mediterranean with the coast from Monaco to Genoa. In the upper right is part of Lago Maggiore. In the center of the map is Turin. Grenoble in in the upper left under the title.

Map has wide margins. Light stain in left margin. A few tiny, undisturbing spots in margins. General condition is Much Better than Good.

Verona i Lago di Garda

"Le Territoire de Verone dressé sur les meilleures Cartes". Copper etching by P. Santini of Chez Remondini. Venice, 1776. Original hand coloring.

Verona is right in the center of this detailed regional map. The blue area to the right of the cartouche is the city of Mantua. The Adige flows in at the top of the map, through Verona and out the lower right corner of the map. Very prominent of course is the Garda Lake with the many towns located on its shores. The mountains are shown as brown topographical symbols.

There are small repaired tears in the margins which do not affect the image. Some slight pleating on the center fold. Margin is fingered in some areas and a piece of the upper left of the map (about 2 cm) has been carefully replaced. Condition is otherwise Good.

This map shows northern Italy as far south as Terracina and the Pescara river. Notice that it included the region of Savoy in the northwest and Istria in the northeast at that time.

Map has wide left and right margins. Lower right margin corner has a crease. Rubbing on lower part of centerfold. General condition is Almost Very Good.

"Principato Citra, olim Picentia". Copper etching by Giovanni Antonio Magini. Bologna, 1606. Modern hand coloring. A rare map!

A very decorative map reaching from Naples in the upper left to the Golfo di Policastro in the south. Notice the two decorative cartouches on the map. Historical sea vessels are off coast.

The map has light age toning. Part of the lower margin (24 cm) has been replaced. The lower part of the centerfold has been reinforced. In the same are are three small repaired holes. Some browning along centerfold. Overall condition if Better than Good due to fine restoration.

Map shows light browning, especially along centerfold. Centerfold has been reinforced. Repair by the lowest ship near centerfold. On the lower margin is a reinforcement on backside of 30cm and 23cm on frontside of margin. General condition is Much Better than Good.

Lago di Garda

as text illustration (map 23) in M.A. Thiers, Histoire de la Révolution Française. Paris, ca 1840.

This map shows part of the northern part of Lake Garda from San Giovanni di Brensone to Bardolino. Little of the
west shore is shown, but a very detailed geographical blow-up of the eastern shore clear to the river Adige.

The map is clean except for a light general toning of the paper.

In the upper center of the map is Chiavenna north of Como Lake. In lower center is Genua and Portofino. The Po River flows in from left center to the right. Milan is in the center of the map. On the right side is detailed geographical information about the map.

The margins are wider than shown. There is a repaired tear in the lower margin reaching to the edge of the image. Some minor spotting in margins. A few very old words written in ink on reverse side.

Florence is almost in the center of this detailed map. The coast extends from Genua to Citavecchia. In the upper right is Cesna and Forti. On the left side is detailed geographical information about the map.

Map has wider margins than shown. A few very minor spots in margins.

"Pedemontana Regio, cum Genuensium Territorio er Sontisserrati Marchionatu". Copper etching by Gerard Mercator. Published posthumously by Jan Jansson in "Atlas Minor". 1628. Original hand coloring. Text on backside in German about Monferrato.

In the center of this map is Asti. In the upper right is Soncino, Gorgonzola and Cremona. On the middle of the right edge is Piacenza. In the lower right is Sestri on the Mediterranean. Nice and Antibes are in the lower left on the Mediterranean. At the top center of the map are San Martino and Arona.

Overall light age toning and a few spots. Margin edges are brown. General condition is Better than Good.

Ferrara

"Ducato di Ferrara". Copper etching by Peter Schenk sen. (1645 - 1715) and Gerard Valk (1626-1720) in
recent coloring. Amsterdam, ca. 1700.

The yellow part of this map shows the duchy of Ferrara. To the south are Bologna and Ravenna and the
surrounding areas. To the East is the Adriatic Sea. The central waterway is the Po river and its many tributaries.
North of the Po is part of the course of the Adige river. Part of the charm of this map is that so much detail is
given to the rivers which branch out like a cobweb on the map. The title cartouche is flanked by angels bearing
wine and fruit.

Condition: Very Good.

"Domino Fiorentino". Copper etching by Ioannes Janssonius (1588-1664). Published ca 1630 in Amsterdam. Original hand coloring.

In the center is the red dot showing the location of Florence. In the upper left is La Spezia in Liguria. The coast reaches as far south as Piombino and Buriano at the lower middle of the map. Above the cartouche is the Chianna River and the Lago Trasimeno - then known as Lake Perugia. In the upper right is part of the Golf of Venice and Rimmini. On the backside is text in Latin about the history of the Duchy of Florence.

Wide margins. Map has overall light age toning. A few scattered spots. Repair in lower margin on centerfold. The general condition is Much Better than Good for a map this age.

“Viaggio da Napoli a Messina". Copper etching from “Itinerario dell'Italia" Vanardi, 1832.

East-oriented map shows various postal and other routes along the Calabrian coast between Napoli and Reggio (strait of Messina). Quite detailed. In the east included are: Foggia, Ordona, Melfi, Potenza, Corigliano. Map also includes Stromboli and Basiluzzo of the Lipari islands. Mileage meters in Italian, French and German miles at bottom.

Clean print showing traces of use. Margins a bit frayed. Several vertical folds to fit book size.

Anonymous French copper etching with outline hand coloring. Mileage meter in Italian, Piemontese, Roman and French miles at bottom right.

General age toning, some foxing, some spots. Lower margin narrow. Next to centerfold another fold.

Vertical centerfold. Some light scattered spots, mostly in margins. Although map is showing traces of use, it is still getting favorable grades!

The decorative cartouche showing coats of arms, a volcano and interesting sea vessels adds a special touch to this map. Notice that on the right side is part of Albania and Corfu. In the upper left is southern Umbria withSpoleto, Norcia and Nocerna in the corner. In the lower left is northern Sicily, the Liparian Islands and the island of Ustica.

Map has hardly visible vertical centerfold. Light browning in margins and along centerfold. In lower right a bit of hardly visible imprint from the left side.

This detailed map shows the region reaching from Amalfi and Nogera in the upper left south to Aciarolla and Rodio in the lower left. In the lower right corner is the Sorgipiano Valley and the towns of Tortorella and Torraca. In the upper right is a detailed inset showing Policastro and surrounding area. On the left side is a detail of Sorrento, Anacapri and surrounding area.

The map has a small repaired tear in the upper left corner. Condition is other wise Almost Very Good.

This east-oriented map shows southern Italy = The Kingdom of Naples including the eastern tip of Sicily with Messina.

Map has a vertical centerfold. Crease in left image and tiny creases in margins. Overall age toning. Ceterfold has been reinforced. Spot in lower margin. Tiny repairs near centerfold on lower margin edge. Light fraying on margin edges.

Pavia is located almost in the center of this map, slightly north of the Po river "flowing" from the left side to the right side of the map. The large city in the upper centeral part of the map is Milan. In the west are Vercellin and Casale Monferrato. In the east is the Adda river fllowing into the Po. To the left of the decorative title cartouche is the Trebbia river.

Except for some miniscule scattered spotting and very light browning along centerfold, the overall condition is Very Good.
