Hand-colored.Published in “Britannia Illustrata" (a work on noble english country seats) London, 1714-1716 Center of title has Hustler Coat of Arms: Ne tentes Autperfice (Do not attempt, or carry it out thoroughly) Acklam is a country seat in the borough of Middlesbrough and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. It was built by William Hustler in 1678. It was the home of the Hustler family until 1928. Since 1935 it has been in public ownership and has been used as a grammar school and a comprehensive school-known as Kings Manor School, with the addition of several modern buildings to the grounds. It is now one of the sites of Middlesbrough College. The surrounding ample gardens are typical in style of English Renaissance gardens. Very good condition. Wide margins.
